Renault Kangoo leads electric van future

Renault will make an electric version of the Kangoo van for business use, as part of the electrification of its electric vehicle range.
The current Kangoo Z.E. Concept is powered by a 70kW electric motor which delivers 226Nm of torque.
The electric Kangoo also promises easy loading, with a hatch-type rear door and wide, folding sill making loads easy to slide into the boot.
Renault will commence production of its ZE (zero emission) electric vehicles – including the Twizy ZE, Zoe ZE and Fluence ZE – as part of its passenger car range.
The French manufacturer has been working with other companies to build electric-vehicle infrastructure, and has also invested money in lithium-ion battery technology in preparation for rolling out its electric cars and vans.
It says that its vehicles, including the Kangoo ZE, will offer ranges of up to 160km by 2011.
