To support the 2011 launch of their first electric vehicle, the Kangoo Van, Renault is planning to set up unique training courses to help electric-drivers reap the benefits from their green-machines.

The ‘economy driving schools’ will be an extension of those already in place in France and are expected to be opened up around Europe, including the UK, within the next two years.

The courses will be aimed at teaching drivers techniques to help them get the most from their electric vehicles, specifically targeting the amount of miles available from a single charge.

Renault’s first electric vehicle will be the Kangoo Van Z.E and is expected for a 2011 launch in the UK. It will have an operational range of 160km as well as retaining the same carrying capacity, payload and comfort that made the original light van so popular. The revised green model however, will boast very low running costs and a silent ride.

The Zero Emissions Renault Kangoo is available to pre-order in time for its early 2011 release, although prices are yet to be confirmed.
