The Renault-Cleon plant in Western France recently produced its 50 millionth gearbox – a J 5 speed manual as featured on the Kangoo van.

The Renault-Cleon site is the French firm’s main powertrain plant, which currently produces 3,500 gearboxes per day.

The site specialises in J gearboxes – as found in the Kangoo - as well as the P model, which is fitted in the Renault Trafic and Master vans as standard.

The Renault Kangoo van is the market leader when it comes to CO2 emissions, delivering as low as 130g/km and as much as 57.65mpg on a combined cycle.

Renault offers the Trafic and Master ranges with low-CO2 emitting engines also. The aforementioned van ranges – Kangoo, Trafic and Master – start at £12,200, £17,700 and £20,795, respectively.
