Renault has confirmed its new 2012 van line up including the new Master van and Trafic van, but there is no place for the compact Kangoo van.

Renault is cutting the Renault Kangoo van and the Kangoo car from its range as it undergoes a revamp for 2012 with fewer models.

However, it has confirmed there will be a focus on lower running costs, in particular with its four-strong electric vehicle range.

While three of the electric vehicles will be cars, the Renault Kangoo ZE electric van in standard and Maxi form will continue the Kangoo name as the only model in the range available in the UK.

The new Renault Kangoo ZE will also be the only small van in Renault's range. The other two models will be the medium Renault Trafic panel van and the large Renault Master van.

Despite cutting a number of car and van models, Renault will continue to sell the Renault Trafic van in the UK.

It will also build the van in the UK alongside the Vauxhall Vivaro at the Luton facility. In 2011, production of a next generation Renault Trafic van was confirmed at the site, securing jobs from 2013.

Renault vans are currently being offered with a 'swappage' discount for drivers affected by the new London Low Emission Zone.

The introduction of the zone means drivers within the area are liable for charges of up to £100 per day if the van does not meet emissions criteria.

Renault is offering discounts on new vans for those with an eligible van to swap. The scheme runs to the end of March in the UK.
