Peugeot has announced that it will introduce a range of Euro 5 diesel engines across its light commercial vehicle line-up.

The revisions will take place over the next 12 months and will include the whole of Peugeot’s LCV portfolio. This means the 207, Bipper, Partner, New Partner, Boxer and Expert will all benefit.

Peugeot’s 207 Van is among the first to receive these tweaks and will benefit from two new Euro 5 diesel engines; the HDi 70 and HDi 92. The former emits 110g/km of CO2 and returns 65.7mpg on a combined cycle, while the larger of the two manages 115g/km and 62.8mpg.

As a result, first year VED reduces by £75 to £125 for vehicles registered by 31 December.

Peugeot’s Bipper Van is also now available with a new Euro 5-compliant 1.3-litre HDi 75 unit that, with the help of Stop-Start technology, manages to return 68.2mpg and emit 109g/km.

Payload is also improved by the introduction of this efficient engine, up 50kg to 660kg.

Peugeot’s 207 and Bipper vans start from £9,590 and £9,095 respectively.
