Peugeot and Citroen’s electric van plan

Collaboratively, Peugeot and Citroen will decide this summer whether to extend their electric powertrain technology across their light-utility van range.
An electric version of the Citroen Berlingo - powered by a nickel-sodium-chloride battery - has already been made available. However the company is confident new technologies would make an updated model more accessible.
This, coupled with the original version’s excellent sales record, makes the newly revised Berlingo a favourite to be the first to receive this new electric technology.
Other vans in contention include the Berlingo’s stable-mate the Peugeot Partner and the acclaimed Citroen Nemo. No details regarding exact models have yet been revealed by the French manufacturers however.
The original Citroen Berlingo models – available with a choice of efficient petrol or diesel engines – start from £14,069. The Peugeot Partner carries a starting price of £13,575.
