Lions on the move in Ford Transit
A long wheelbase Ford Transit is the vehicle of choice for the Lions of Bath event – part of the city’s ‘World Heritage’ promotion.
The Ford Transit will provide transport for the 100-strong pride of life size lion sculptures being positioned in and around Bath to celebrate the city being awarded World Heritage status this year.
The lions have been decorated by personalities such as Lord Bath and Winter Olympic Gold Medallist Amy Williams, ensuring the pride is as eye-catching as possible.
Event organiser Megan Witty admitted transporting the lions across the city was a big problem. The organisers turned to Ford because of the capacity and reliability of the vans.
The Transit van was covered in ‘Lion in Transit livery, leading Witty to admit: “It looks really stunning in its livery and is causing great interest in Bath.
“We really needed a large, long wheelbase vehicle to be able to carry around as many lions as we can."
The aforementioned long wheelbase Ford Transit is available from £19,805 with shorter wheelbase models starting at £17,155.
