Ford’s Fiestavan, Transit Connect meet emission targets

Ford has revealed that 2011 models of the Fiestavan and Transit Connect will be available with Euro V-compliant powertrains.
Not only do all 2011 Fiestavan engines meet Euro V emission standards, they also get a power increase. The base 1.25-litre Duratec engine is up to 80bhp, while the 1.4- and 1.6-litre diesel units output 67 and 92bhp respectively.
All diesel engines get a Diesel Particulate Filter to help cull emissions further, and all models come with a trip computer as standard.
Ford Transit Connect customers also get the option of a Euro V-compliant powerplant, with the new 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCi that is available in 87 and 117bhp variations.
This is also fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter, which utilises vaporiser technology that collects over 95 per cent of all engine soot and turns it into CO2 and water – a process known as the regeneration cycle.
This Duratorq unit also comes with a revised final drive ratio for enhanced fuel efficiency.
The Ford Fiestavan and Transit Connect are priced from £10,500 and £9,995 respectively.
