Fiat van range economy with eco:Drive
A fuel saving eco:Drive system is being made available to Fiat Grande Punto, Fiorino and Doblo Cargo van drivers.
The eco:Drive Fleet system, which can be downloaded onto a USB device, offers drivers advice on how to adapt driving style to improve fuel economy and decrease emissions.
By measuring distance, time and fuel consumption in each vehicle, the eco:Drive system allows fleet operators to evaluate how efficiently fleet vehicles are being driven.
Fiat has extended the eco:Drive system to commercial and fleet vans after more than 34,500 motorists signed up to the service in cars such as the Fiat 500, Punto Evo and Qubo.
So far four million journeys have been measured by the eco:Drive system.
The system has won various industry awards including the Guardian Innovation Award 2009 for ‘Best Digital Technology’ and ‘Green Champion’ at the International Green Apple Awards 2009.
Fuel consumption can be boosted by driving smoothly and at slower speeds, and correct gear changes, according the Government advice.
