Fiat lauded for green technology
Fiat has received another green accolade, this time for its eco:DRIVE fuel-saving technology.
Fiat’s eco:Drive technology – available on commercial vehicles fitted with the Blue&Me platform –scooped the Green Development award in the Manufacturers category at the BusinessCar Techies 2010.
Launched in March this year, eco:Drive helps drivers save up fuel, improve techniques and ultimately save money.
Plugging a USB stick into the Blue&Me port lets eco:Drive Fleet record information about the user’s driving style and offers helpful fuel-saving suggestions.
eco:Drive offers potential fuel savings of up to 15 per cent, as well as significant reductions in CO2 emissions.
“Fiat’s eco:Drive Fleet system really impressed the judges, with the system’s ability to make a real difference to fuel use, and therefore a business’s running costs, key to its victory," says Paul Barker, BusinessCar Editor.
The system is available across Fiat’s range of award-winning commercial vehicles, which comprises the Doblo, Ducato, Scudo, Fiorino and Grande Punto, which are priced from £14,997, £21,542, £18,639, £10,995 and £12,377.
