Fiat Doblo Cargo named International Van of the Year
The Fiat Doblo Cargo was awarded the title of International Van of the Year 2011 this week at an award ceremony in Hanover, Germany.
Judged by a 24-strong panel of commercial vehicle journalists from around the globe, the Fiat Doblo Cargo fended off competition from Renault and Vauxhall to receive 128 out of a possible 168 points.
“The winning van design impressed the jury on a number of fronts," commented chairman of the jury Pieter Wieman.
“The jury was particularly impressed with the wide range of engines."
This engine line-up includes a 1.4-litre 95bhp petrol unit and three MultiJet diesels; the 1.3-litre 90bhp, 1.6-litre 105bhp and the flagship 2.0-litre 135bhp.
The trophy was presented at a gala evening to mark the 63rd Hanover International Motor Show, widely regarded as the most important commercial vehicle in Europe.
Fiat’s Doblo Cargo is available now, priced from £11,305 for the 1.4-litre petrol version.
