Citroen van conversions boost sales

Sales of Citroen's converted vans have increased by over a third in the past 12 months, the French van maker has revealed.
Small and medium UK businesses are increasingly turning to specialist, bespoke vans to suit their needs according to the latest sales figures.
In 2011 Citroen introduced a 'Ready to Run' programme offering specialist conversions of its panel van range to businesses and the result is nearly 35 per cent extra sales in 2011.
Citroen has singled out the large Citroen Relay van as one of the most popular vans for conversion because of its size, payload capacity and flexibility.
The Citroen Relay van is available in tipper, dropside and Luton van versions but can also be converted into waste collection vans, temperature control vans for food sellers and even glass carriers.
Available from Citroen Business Centres, the conversions have particularly impressed small businesses in the UK.
Citroen has recorded a sales increase of 23.3 per cent towards the medium size company (SME) area of the market.
Martin Hamill, Citroën's Head of Commercial Vehicles and Business Sector, said: "Citroen's wide range of cars and LCVs are perfectly placed to meet the transport needs of many SME companies.
"This choice, when combined with the Business Centre's expertise, provides SMEs with a very convenient one-stop-shop solution.
"And as Citroën offers some of the most fuel-efficient and lowest operating cost vehicles available, the savings our SME customers make continue long after they leave our Business Centres."
The Citroen Relay, along with the Citroen Nemo and Citroen Berlingo, are available to buy from Citroen dealerships now.
