Citroen delivers Berlingo van fleet

The last of the 163 Citroen Berlingo vans will be delivered to automotive parts distributor FPS this month.
Earlier this year a deal was signed to supply the panel vans to FPS on two-year, 100,000 mile contract hire agreements.
Adorned with a striking pepper mint body colour and FPS livery, the Berlingo vans are all fitted out in LX specification and include a fold-flat passenger seat, the optional bulkhead and removable panel and ply lining.
As the vans arrived, Stuart Collett, FPS’ fleet manager, said: “We specified Citroën Berlingo vans to meet a wide range of demanding operational, environmental and financial requirements."
The vans will be put into service across 20 distribution depots delivering parts such as exhausts to 2,500 customers.
“The Berlingo’s proven fuel efficiency and low whole life costs meet stringent FPS business requirements," he continued.
The vans, capable of a 625kg payload, have a vast load capacity of 3.3 cubic metres for the shorter wheelbase version and 3.7 cubic metres for the long base L2 van.
The interior is fitted with hard-wearing plastics and can be converted into a ‘mobile office’ when the passenger seat is folded flat to create a writing service.
FPS will put the vans to immediate use as part of a 250-strong fleet and Robert Handyside, Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager at Citroen, believes the vans are up to the challenge of travelling up to 13,000,000 miles a year – the distance covered by the FPS fleet.
He said: “We are delighted that FPS has specified Citroën Berlingo vans for this demanding work. These proven and versatile vehicles provide the environmental, operational and financial benefits that successful businesses require."
