Berlingo showcases alternative fuel

The Citroen Berlingo has been chosen by leading alternative fuel company LPG vans to showcase its new technology.
The company is based in the Midlands and currently rents vans to local authorities and business around the country so they can test the fuel economy for themselves. The LPG (Liquid petroleum Gas) is now planning to expand its 3 van fleet, which includes the LPG-converted Citroen Berlingo, as demand increases.
The popular Citroen Berlingo costs on average £68 to fill with diesel - 75% more than the £17 it costs to fill a LPG-Converted Berlingo. The rental costs are below competitors at £125 and the company also offer to convert current vehicles.
Extra rental benefits include vehicle support; no London congestion charge; and insurance incentives.
Regarding clean vehicle alternatives, electric cars take up much of the spotlight, which raises the concern that there is no place for LPG fuelled vehicles.
However Oliver Roberts, co director of Auto LPG Vehicle Hire Ltd claims that “electric cars are still unproven" and insists that the LPG route is “much more cost effective".
